| DESCRIPTION | |
| The Lite-Form System is a concrete form which consists of 2-inch thick rigid polystyrene insulation, plastic spacer ties, and in-wall alignment bracing. It is used for all kinds of residential and commercial cast-in-place concrete construction. The form is filled with standard concrete and accommodates all steel reinforcing codes. Lite-Form suppliers use special fabricating saws to cut sheets of Polystyrene insulation into planks which are 8 inches high and 8 feet long. The saw also cuts a slot every 8 inches along the plank to receive the spacer ties for form assembly. Lite-Form plastic spacer ties and insulation planks are assembled into a variety of forming shapes. The spacer ties come in different lengths to create concrete walls from 4 inches to 24 inches thick. The in-wall bracing is a welded-wire girder which is placed into the form to assure straight, precise walls and replaces much of the form bracing used in conventional forms. It comes in different widths to fit every wall thickness. | |
| SPECIAL FEATURES & BENEFITS | |
| Lite-Form concrete forms are a cost-effective way to build a wide variety of concrete structures which ordinarily demand heavy investments in machinery and labour. Simple hand tools, dimensional lumber, and common hardware are all that's needed for most Lite-Form projects. Because of their light weight and unique interlocking design, forms can be easily assembled right at the jobsite. However builders may choose to pre-assemble the form in a protected area off the jobsite, dramatically reducing jobsite labour for even the most complicated project. The insulation and concrete are highly resistant to decay and corrosion. Specialized structures which are subject to harsh environments will benefit from the high insulating value and long-term durability of the Lite-Form building system. | |

| CONSTRUCTION & FINISHING TECHNIQUES | |
| Lite-Form concrete walls can be used for nearly all residential or commercial floorplans without requiring any major design changes. Formultistoryy structures, concrete wall thicknesses are reduced for the upper stories. Electric and plumbing lines are concealed in the insulation by first carving 1 inch deep channels with an electric blade or router. Outlets and switch boxes are anchored directly into the concrete. Drywall (gypsum board) is anchored directly to the exposed plastic tie pads with common drywall screws or adhesive. Lite-Form In-Wall Bracing is installed in the form to insure accuracy and proper wall alignment. This exclusive Lite-Form accessory is available in various widths and is used vertically or horizontally with site-assembled forms or panelized form kits. Virtually any kind of exterior finish material can be applied over the Lite-Form wall. This includes traditional siding, brick veneer, as well as synthetic stucco or EIFS materials. | |
