18. William Morris (Rhoda Barnes , George ) was born about 1844 in Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire.

1881 census gives William as 38, Joiner with Mary and $ children at Green, Pem St Marys

William married Mary A. Mary was born about 1842 in Tenby, Pembrokeshire.

They had the following children:

  33 F i Mary A Morris was born about 1873 in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire.
  34 M ii William J Morris was born about 1875 in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire.
  35 M iii Thomas F Morris was born about 1878 in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire.
  36 F iv Rose Morris was born about 1880 in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire.

23. Frederick George Barnes (George , George ) was born on 19 Jan 1859 in St Marys, Pembroke Dock. He was christened on 23 Feb 1859 in St Johns, Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire. He died on 17 Apr 1947 in Gosport. Frederick was employed as in Ship Fitter. He was employed as Electricial Fitter In H.M. Dockyard in St Marys, Pembroke Dock.

Fred (our grandfather) was a Freeman of the Borough, an electricial fitter in the dockyard, very clever and inventive "A man born before his time. He attached wires to a cookie sheet to give Grandma's feet a shock to help her arithus, and invented an excape hatch for a submarine."(The idea was turned down but was later used in the "Davis excape hatch")

Most of the Barnes information comes from a typed document in my posession wrtten by the grandchildren of "Fred". I do not know the exact source as it is not signed or dated. (entered by Don Rawls March 2001)

His grandaughter Marion writes in a seperate document dated Jan 1998:-

"He was sent to South Africa to install electricity in the Naval Dockyard at Simonstown. This was before the Boer War and when electricity was still in its infancy.

Frederick married Mary Ann Howell daughter of William Howell and Elizabeth in Jun 1882 in Pembroke. Mary was born on 24 Aug 1856. She died about 1930 in Pembroke Dock.

Mary Ann had a kind and gentle disposition and a beutifl figure, with only an 18" waist, even when she was in her 60s. She was one of 10 children (listed from Barnes family records)

24. Emily Martha Barnes (George , George ) was christened on 9 Jan 1861 in Pembroke Dock. Emily was employed as living with parents (age 18) from Millner to 1881 in Pembroke.

Emily given as age 7 months in Aug 1861 census, still at home, Ocupation Milliner in 1881

Emily married Abram Finch in Jun 1894 in Pembroke. Abram was born about 1849 in Beaumont, Essex.

1901 Census gives:-
Abram Finch b Thorpe Le Soken, Essex , at 1 Dimmond St, St Mary, Pembroke, Pensioner Met Police and School Board attendance officer,age 52
Emily Finch, Wife, b Pembroke Dock, at Pembroke, St Marys, age 38
Ernest Finch b Pembroke Dock, at Pembroke, St Marys, age 1
Norah Finch b Pembroke Dock, at Pembroke, St Marys, age 3
(Also 3 older children and Hanna Barnes age 80)

1881 gives Abram, Police Constable, & Jane with 3 children at 3 Lion St, Portsea
1891 gives him at the Police Section House in Pembroke Dock, Widdow.

Abram and Emily had the following children:

  44 F i Nora Finch was born about 1897.

Diana (Rawls (Blundon) writes "Nora was never married, she was a nurse( maybe even a midwife) to the elite and royalty in London".
  45 M ii Ernest Finch was born about 1900. He died in 1983.

Heather Rawls writes Dec 2005:- Nora’s brother was also a teacher, retired. He is quite well known in Wales a bit of a celebrity, Rosemary Baylis told me that he had in fact been a Welsh rugby international in the nineteen twenties. He had in fact been capped for Wales seven times. He also apparently scored a winning try againt the All Blacks at the Cardiff Arms Park in 1929.

An era that conjures up such names as Albert Jenkins, Ivor Jones, Ernie Finch, Elvet Jones and W.H. Clement arguably some of the greatest names ever to have graced a rugby field.
1922 saw Ernie Finch, Ivor Jones and Dai John play for the Scarlets and in 1923 Albert Jenkins Captained Wales.

31. Margaret Barnes (John , George ) was christened on 8 Jun 1853 in Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire. She was buried on 2 Apr 1854 in St Johns, Pembroke Dock.

This Marrage not totaly proven

Margaret married Albert Edward Owens about Mar 1875. Albert was born about 1853 in Honeybro, Pembroke.

They had the following children:

  46 F i Eva Owens was born about 1879 in Pembroke Dock, Wales.
