Nature Trails
&
Guided interpretive Walks
Our 30 acres of trails are open to the
public by appointment, we can provide a knowledgeable guide who can provide
information on some of the many woodland flowers and shrubs, our managed forest plan, as well as talk about the topography and glacial deposits that make
our property so interesting. Those that wish can walk
the trails on their own, but we recommend that the first time you visit you
request a guided tour so as not to miss any of the wonderful sights to be seen.
We are located just 20km south of Owen Sound,
Ontario, about a 1 hour drive from Kitchener or 2 hour drive from Toronto,
London or Barrie.
The best time to visit is in the spring
when each week a new selection of wildflowers
emerges to catch the sunlight filtering through the budding trees. As the trees
leaf out and the sunlight is further reduced on the forest floor the
undergrowth turns green and provides hiding spots for the many birds and
animals that call our bush home. In the fall as the leaves turn colour and
gradually fall from the trees other flowers emerge and the fruit of the spring
flowers turn colour and add to the display.
So no matter what time you visit it is a
pleasant afternoons stroll through the woods. Do come and see, we love to meet
fellow nature enthusiasts whether knowledgeable or simply interested. We cannot
in good faith keep this unique and natural property all to ourselves.
